Snowflake
Connect to a Snowflake-managed MCP server with OAuth and native RBAC
About
Query and manage Snowflake data through Snowflake’s managed MCP server. Snowflake hosts the endpoint and uses native role-based access control for the server and each configured tool.
Features
- Cortex Agents: Expose governed Cortex Agents as tools
- Cortex Search and Analyst: Query unstructured data and semantic views
- SQL Execution: Run read-only or administrator-enabled SQL
- Custom Tools: Invoke Snowflake UDFs and stored procedures
- OAuth Authentication: Authenticate each user through Snowflake OAuth or External OAuth
The available tools are defined by your Snowflake administrator when creating the MCP server, so they vary by endpoint.
What you’ll need to connect
An administrator must create a Snowflake MCP server, grant users access to it and its underlying tools, and configure an OAuth security integration for Obot’s callback URL.
Follow Snowflake’s managed MCP server setup instructions before connecting this catalog entry.
After setup, provide the Snowflake account URL, database, schema, and MCP server name shown in your server endpoint.
Upgrade notice
If you’re upgrading this server, note that this replaces the Obot-hosted Snowflake Labs server with Snowflake’s managed MCP server.
- Reconnect required: Configure a Snowflake account URL, database, schema, MCP server name, and OAuth security integration.
- Compatibility: Username/password authentication and Service Config YAML are no longer supported.
- Tool changes: Tool names, parameters, and availability are defined by the configured Snowflake MCP server.
