About

Investigate and manage a Grafana Cloud stack through Grafana Cloud’s hosted MCP server. OAuth 2.1 gives each user access through their own Grafana identity and RBAC permissions instead of a service account token.

Read the official Grafana Cloud MCP server documentation.

Features

  • Observability queries: Query Prometheus metrics, Loki logs, Pyroscope profiles, Tempo data, and supported datasource types
  • Dashboards and alerts: Search and manage dashboards, folders, alert rules, notification routing, and annotations
  • Incident response: View and manage incidents and Grafana OnCall schedules, teams, users, and alert groups
  • Assistant workflows: Start and inspect Grafana Assistant investigations, retrieve infrastructure summaries, and ask Grafana Assistant
  • User-scoped access: Use the permissions already granted to the user in the selected Grafana Cloud stack

What you’ll need to connect

  • A hosted Grafana Cloud stack. This server does not support self-hosted Grafana.
  • Grafana Assistant enabled for the stack, with any required terms accepted.
  • The Assistant Cloud MCP User role or grafana-assistant-app.cloud-mcp:access permission. Editors and administrators have this permission by default.

Authenticate with Grafana when prompted. Read access is always available; grant write access during consent to create or modify Grafana resources. Grafana Cloud MCP usage contributes to Grafana Assistant active-user and token usage.

Optionally provide your stack URL to skip the stack-selection step during authorization. For example: https://my-stack.grafana.net.
